My three kids gave me the best Father’s Day gift possible- they spent the morning with me.  We had blueberry pancakes.  Nicole cleaned the kitchen after breakfast.  Michael made a card for me that listed 5 reasons he likes me (#1 was that I give him allowance!)  My daughters are college-aged and my son is 8.  It makes my day to simply have them all with me…even if I have to cook for them (and pay them!)

My house in Hilliard sold and I am moving to Clintonville.  I am excited about the move but I will miss Hilliard, the place I have called home for almost 20 years.  So long to Otie’s in Olde Hilliard.  I will come back for your famous “Otie Baloney” sandwich on your new patio.   I will miss all the bike rides and long runs (sort of!) on the Rails to Trails path.  Goodbye Starliner Diner and Homestead Park.  My daughters attended Hilliard City schools K-12 and received first-rate educations.  Go Wildcats!  Hilliard was an excellent place for raising kids.  Most of all, I will miss a wonderful community of families and great friends.

Todd Snider is my favorite performer and recording artist, period.  He will never be a huge mainstream star, but I will spend the rest of my life recommending him to anybody and everyone.

My favorite live show of all-time was Todd Snider & the Nervous Wrecks at Ludlow’s in the Brewery District, Columbus, OH sometime in 1996.  He is a folky who can rock.  He is a hipster and a hayseed.  He is one of the most gifted songwriters of the past few decades.  He is a total riot.
